Sorry i'm so late in replying to the post!
i think that Lupin's patronus is "formless silvery stuff" because he
isn't an expert at it. He says this himself when Harry asks him to
teach him.I know that he is a dada teacher but that doesn't mean that
he is an expert on every defence there is , anyway how many times
would he have come in to contact with demontors (they appear to stay
in azcaban all the time).Any way Lupin isn't even facing a demontor
when showing harry what to do.He should only produce something like
clouds when the boggart changes in to the moon, because that's his
fear , the dementor is Harrys.(Does it ever say what Lupin does to
the Boggart to defeat it when it changes in to the moon?? and could
Harry defeat the Boggart/Demontor by imagining it as a clown or
something funny and joy "creating" like that??)
