My thought was rather that the act of writing might have the effect 
of the Patronus.  By the time the results come along it's all over 
anyway.

FB contains an account by a wizard who was attacked by a Lethifold 
and survived.  His happy thought was of his election to president of 
his local gobstones club.  IIRC, he mentions that his Patronus had 
horns.
