Dumbledore's life-debt?

I don't think that Hagrid's character could hurt his own mother. If 
you look at his track record with magical creatures, he can't/won't 
hurt them and will defend them even if it means his own demise. I 
doubt that he would have made a decision about blasting his own 
mother that quickly. IMHO, I think that he would have mulled it over, 
over a pint at the Leaky Cauldron first before doing anything!! 

I think that Hagrid saved Dumbledore's life in a battle or rescued 
him after he was wounded and that is why he "owes his life to 
Hagrid". 

That's just my hypothesis!!!
