Grrrrr! Buried in the sand pretty much covers it, IMO. A teacher I
met last year had the same view of the books and wouldn't teach them.
She also had not read them. Arguing with her resulted in nothing but
frustration and disgust on my part. It wasn't worth it.
It is truly amazing to me that these people are more interested in
upholding their own ignorances instead of rejoicing in the fact that
reading has become a favorite pasttime for children again. I think
about the terrifying things going on throughout the world right now
and I wonder how and why these people want to focus on proving that
Harry Potter is Satanic. How ridiculous. Besides, when I start
hearing reports of children trying to fly off their rooftops on
broomsticks, then I might consider getting worried... but I doubt even
that.
