Arguing with the clueless

I also have wasted my time arguing in favor of HP.  What it comes 
down to for me is that the biggest issue in our society is not the 
fear of an outbreak of child witches and wizards, but rather rampant 
illiteracy!  HP increases the number of children reading and using 
their imagination, which is such a greater good and the perceived 
potential evil (kids wanting to be witches) is just a ridiculous 
fear.  It is not going to happen.  Besides, it is the parents duty to 
explain to their kids that HP, like PowerRangers, Pokemon, and 
Superman, is a fictional hero and not real ... Superman isn't real 
and can't fly, HP isn't real and can't fly.  Kids actually understand 
that concept, amazingly enough.
