Thought you had some great questions! The first one
intrigued me most. Can / should we presume that the
current headmaster has blood ties to one of the
school's four founders? What threat does Dumbledore
pose to Voldemort (apart from his previous record
defeating Grindelwald)?
I agree that we're missing a confrontation between
Dumbledore and Voldemort -- either pre-Harry or yet to
be staged. If you subscribe to the
Dumbledore-as-Phoenix hypothesis, maybe that's what
we're gearing for in the fifth installment....hmmm...
Would fall in line with the "Mentor sacrifices self to
Villain but he knows something we don't know"
convention Lucas used with Obi Wan and Darth Vader in
Star Wars: A New Hope.
