I've heard the various arguments about Hermione's birthday, but one 
thing remains a complete mystery to me:  What is the significance of 
whether Hermione's birthday is in 1979 or 1980?  In other words, is 
there a pivotal theory or prediction that hinges on getting the date 
right?

Can anyone straighten me out on why her birthday matters, because I 
must admit to being completely puzzled by the debate.
