It has been stressed numerous times that one's family does not matter. 
Dumbledore knows that someone can be all right even if their family is 
disreputable (Hagrid said something along those lines once, I believe..). 
Hagrid himself, for example, had an apparently vicious giant for a mother but 
Dumbledore knows that Hagrid is all right. You cannot judge a child based on 
what his or her parents are like.
