I believe ol' Corn Fudge (I just like how silly that sounds) already
told us to some extent in PoA. Remember he had to tell the Prime
Minister about Sirius Black. I believe he said many people criticized
him for doing so, but he mentioned that if anybody tried to exposed
the wizarding world, who'd believe them. We muggles like to keep our
heads in the sand...we're happier that way ;)
