BG:"1) How can it be ensured that the Muggles who have knowledge never
pass it on to others?"
Good question. Most people would have reason to keep their silence,
but not all. *Somebody* would talk. But we haven't gotten the answer.
There must be *some* magical means.
BG:"2) Why don't the two communities interact and help each other? It
seems to me that the wizards could have been very useful in, for
example, fighting WW 2. Conversely, don't Muggles have the right to
know that an insane wizard like Voldemort is on the loose, and
couldn't they be enlisted in fighting him? I assume that evil is not
immune to Muggle weapons."
We're told over and over that the Muggle world goes to great lengths
not to see magic or accept it. What would happen if the Muggle world
found out about wizards? Eventually Muggles would resent wizards for
all the things wizards could have "fixed" but didn't. It wouldn't be a
far step before a lot of people believed that wizards run the world
behind the scenes to suit themselves. People look for the puppeteers
messing up their lives.
The wizard world made the right decision to stay secret.
