Cindy made some good points about Lupin and Lupin's profession. I can 
actually imagine Lupin doing odd jobs-mostly during the day-at odd times. 
Things small enough that he wouldn't have to make a long term committment so 
he wouldn't have to explain his frequent absenses from work.  

I don't have much evidence on this-aside from his 'travel worn' appearance. 
It's just how a picture him. 

What gets me, is when he says he can't find work because no one will hire a 
werewolf. Was he saying that because of self pity? Or did he actually mean 
that people knew he was a werewolf? I mean, if news that Lupin was a werewolf 
had reached so many ears that he couldn't find decent work, I assume there 
would a number of complaints. Also, wasn't it mentioned somewhere that all 
werewolfs are registered? Imagine of Lucius Malfoy knew! I doubt he'd spare 
Draco the news, and that Draco would keep it quiet. 

My thought is that Dumbledore convinced the MOM to trust his judgement, that 
Lupin was OK, but I still feel there would be some who would know and openly 
oppose.
