Green theory

Dear All--I have been thinking about this for awhile and if someone 
else has already posted this theory, I apologize for not being aware 
of that!  But, when the movie didn't have Harry's eyes green and 
knowing that JKR has insisted that the color is important, I began to 
wonder if Harry's eyes were ORIGINALLY green.  That got me to 
thinking that perhaps his eyes are a result of Lily's last act of 
protection towrds him.  That is to say, in the future we will find, 
Harry's eyes turned green when his mother cast a protective spell 
with all of her love and the last of her powers as she died.  I had 
always thought that the green light Harry remembers and dreams of is 
something involved with Voldemort's curse (his jealousy and hatred), 
but lately I believe that it is from Lily's spell of protection.
   Thus, just as Harry picked up the ability to speak Pareseltongue 
from Voldemort's powers, he may have picked up Lily's eyes and, 
perhaps, some other of her powers that have yet to be revealed.  I 
think that last because Rowling continuously states that Harry's 
green eyes are very important; perhaps, they imbue him with her 
tremendous powers of spell casting.  When he does face Voldemort in 
some sort of duel, perhaps he will be aided by this ability tsnsfered 
to him by his dying mother.
   Would enjoy receiving anyone's comments or reactions to this!
