Well, I think Sirius would use a 'stupefy' spell or some such to capture him 
instead of killing. (For Harry and for himself)

Yes.
Harry's first impression of Ms. McGonagall: "You don't want to make her 
angry" and it has held so far.

Maybe Harry will ask her to teach him to be animagus - registered one, of 
course. (He's been growing his hair by magic all his life, you know)

Wandless magic: blowing things and people up. Could Harry learn to master 
it?
