I think we are going to learn a few things about Hagrid's parents.  
We are told that his dad was a wizard and his Mom was a giant.  We 
don't know if she is dead or alive, but I think I remember that 
Hagrid's dad died in his second year.  Hagrid never mentions how his 
dad died.

Hmmm.  Lots of juicy possibilities there.  Since we know 
giants "aren't very nice" and enjoy killing, I am thinking that 
Hagrid's Mom killed his Dad for some reason.  As we have seen, 
wizards seem to have no difficulty killing members of their own 
families (Crouch, Riddle), so nothing would surprise me at this point.

Since I am unable to support this hypothesis with any extra-clever 
canon observations, I pledge not to say "I told you so" if it proves 
correct later.
