Aha!  You fell for it!  How do we really know that giants aren't very 
nice and enjoy killing?  We have yet to meet a full-blooded giant, and 
Hagrid certainly seems nice enough (even though I don't like him).  
Someone else mentioned that maybe giants really aren't mean, and that 
it something I have been thinking about.  Perhaps Fridwulfa is loving 
and sensitive and has been pining for her son, devasted that she has 
to live in hiding instead of be the mother of Hagrid she wants to be.
