In Book 1, Snape catches Harry outside 'during break' with the
book Quidditch Through the Ages - this sounds like a break
between classes, and I think the only night class they have that
year is Astronomy, which they have every Wednesday at
midnight.
And in Ch. 13, Snape is refereeing the Quidditch game, and JKR
says Ron and Hermione wish him good luck outside the
changing rooms in the afternoon - there's no indication it's a
night game (in fact, during Harry's first practice, they quit when it
got too dark -- although I'm sure if they *did* have to play a night
game, illumination could be provided easily enough.)
Also, folklore is not 100 per cent unanimous on whether a
vampire *must* avoid daylight; in some areas of the Balkans
there are tales of vampires walking by day. Also, folklore also
rarely indicates that daylight would actually do vampires any real
harm - the disintegration-into-dust scenes seem to be more the
result of Hollywood's touch.

through a *few* HP posts while trying to catch up....
