Yeah, he wanted *the last of the potters*. This, with the fact that 
he wasn't keen on killing Lily (a muggle born, no less), suggests it 
has at least partly to do with Harry's line of ancestry. All the 
males, all the genuine potters...all the genuine Gryffindors? Pet 
theory.

Also, the potters knew V was after them specifically. And Lucius 
called them 'meddlesome fools.' Is this implying they had tools that 
were dangerous to Voldy?
