Is Dedalus Diggle important? (Re: Dedalus Diggle)

I have been thinking of Diggle for a while now.. Yeah, we don't know 
did he sett off the fireworks, but we do know that he was the one who 
is great Harryfan. 

We do not know anything about Mundungus either, but he is in the old 
gang. So I was thinking, if Diggle is part of the gang too? 
McGonagall and Dumbledore clearly know Diggle and his things, so he 
might be something important too, what do you think?
