It's full dark when they arrive at the station. In fact, it is dark
when they are stopped by the Dementors. I seem to recall that when
the Dementors stop the train, all the lights go out. Lupin has to
create a light for anyone to see. This suggests that either it is
extremely overcast, or it's evening.
I do remember that Lupin was at the feast. The chapter described
Lupin's robe in comparison to the rest of the faculty. (I just read
the books again recently.)
When is sundown in Scotland? I had the impression from the books
that they generally arrived after sundown. In cos, it was night. In
ss, I don't remember. The trailers, if I recall, show it being after
sundown.
