Seriously, I agree that JKR is using Hermione as an increasingly 
rebellious figure, possibly to point out supposed weaknesses/ 
injustices in the magical world.  Children of wizards and witches 
couldn't really be used for this purpose as the status quo is their 
norm, and Harry has too much on his mind already to worry about such 
things in much detail.  Mind you, JKR could have worked it so that 
Harry's rotten childhood would make him sensitive to the supposed 
exploitation of others (human or non-human), but again that would be 
too much for him to do.  Better to pass the Rebel with Several Causes 
banner to Hermione, whose temperment is better suited to such 
activities as she continues to grow and mature.
