No girlfriends for Hermione?

Its not as if she is a tomboy either. But I do think she is the kind 
of person (male or female) who would be excluded from some peer 
rituals because they are aware enough to be self-conscious and 
therefore are seen as a threat by the conventional.

In PoA isnt there a brief cameo where she, Molly Weasley and Ginny 
are in a giggly group as Molly recalls love potions she used as a 
girl... ?? Suggests she has soem interactiosn Harry et all ames are 
not aware of...

We do get a very partial view of Hogwarts from seeing it as Harry POV 
centred... and one consequnece is that the Heidi effect also seems to 
be in operation. 

Heidi some will recall went right through a series of books from 
childhood to young adulthood without having a period. Since part of 
the theme there is growing up after a fashion this is a little 
strange..
