Neville's prospects (was Re: Hermione's Knowledge of the Longbottoms)

True - He is afraid of the curse - because it [i]reminds[/i] him of 
the fate of his parents. He's subconciously inclined to suppress 
Magic in him - unless, of course, he thinks it may help find the cure 
for them - like herbology...

Neville's worst fear is Severus Snape.
After Snape made him disembowel toads and frogs (with Neville having 
a pet toad) - and how sensitive Neville is to the pain of others - 
and not only that of humans... well, Neville wouldn't call it 
torture, but mentally it's close...

And yet - he's not trying to avoid any of it! So I'd say Neville has 
lots of courage - even more than Harry - more than anyone. He's 
regularly facing his worst fear!

For the fun... Imagine Neville mistaking Snape for a Boggart - would 
[i]riddiculus[/i] work on a grown wizard? I don't think Neville would 
be able to tell Snape and Boggart apart.
