Also, if Neville HAD had his memory modified at a very early age, 
wouldn't his Grandmother and other relatives have attributed his 
seeming lack of magical ability at least in part to that instead of 
simply believing that he was a squib? It seems to me that a wizarding 
family so hung up on Neville's being a wizard that they would half-
drown him and hang him out a window would be looking for any 
hope/cure/excuse to avoid admitting that Neville was a squib.
