I don't see how that qualifies as "back-stabbing by a friend."  Cedric
wasn't Harry's friend -- they were casual acquaintances at best.  And
nothing Cedric did constituted back-stabbing; he simply asked Cho to
the Ball before Harry did.  He didn't even know that Harry was
interested in Cho.
