If Charlie was born in 1967, he might have started at Hogwarts in
1978, when Percy was maybe 2 years old and the twins were being born.
So we could have Bill and Charlie away at Hogwarts, Molly busy giving
birth, 'David' + optional other missing sibling sent to visit one pair
of grandparents while the other grandmum is keeping Percy out of
trouble at his own home... and it was the grandparents' house, not
Arthur's house, that was destroyed with the Dark Mark over it. That
would account for half the missing grandparents of our Weasleys.

I think the only Gryffindor player who needs to be replaced yet is
Oliver, who was Captain and Keeper. I think Harry will be made
Captain by acclamation, despite his protests.

Because I think Ron is a nice kid and I want him to have something
nice to be happy about, I *hope* Ron will be Keeper (he has the build
for it) and a *good* one. With a good broomstick, whether provided by
the school or as a gift from his older brothers. However, if JKR
wants to pile up the angst on poor Ron, she could have him be beaten
out in the try-outs for the Keeper position. Possibly by Dean Thomas,
who also has the right build and is sports-mad (for soccer, but
perhaps he has added a love of Quidditch: he went to the QWC with
Seamus). And Dean Thomas is Muggle-born, and despite Ron's lack of
racism, being beaten out in the wizarding sport by a Muggle-born
surely would increase his hurt feelings. Possibly by one of the
hypothetical two more Gryffindor girls in Harry's year; despite the
relative level of gender equality in the Potterverse, being beaten at
sports by a *girl* also must be extra unpleasant. Possibly by Ginny,
who is not only a *girl* and *younger* but also his own sister!

But they had BETTER start training some reserves, because the *next*
year, Harry and the new Keeper will be the ONLY returning players.

I planned out a fanfic about the fourth Gryffindor girl winning the
try-outs for that Keeper position. She's been fairly unhappy at
Hogwarts so far, as Hermione despises her anti-intellectualism,
Parvati and Lavender despise her for being ungracefully tall and
gawky and looking absurd in fashionable clothes, and the boys
completely ignore her. But suddenly she turns out to be an MVP Keeper
and suddenly all the boys are swarming around her like ants to sugar
and suddenly Lavender and Parvati are trying to get to be her friends.
I think it would be hysterically funny to watch Lavender and Parvati
trying desperately to make nice to a girl whom they've treated like
dirt for four years.
