I think there is a bond because of several things. While she was
indeed unconscious during Harry's confrontation with Tom and the
basilisk, they talked afterward and he was very nice and reassuring
to her. He treated her like an equal, after previously thinking of
her as a little girl (but then, we know from Harry and Dobby's
relationship that he doesn't generally talk down to people).
Secondly, he did save her life. Neither of these things indicates
that they will be boyfriend and girlfriend necessarily, but it does
imply that they may be friend and friend, especially as JKR has
hinted at more Ginny involvement in the future.

They also share a bond because each of them was taken in by the
diary. Each of them was fooled and used by Tom Riddle. With Ginny
it happened over a longer period of time, but Harry also completely
believed everything Riddle told him, including the part about Hagrid
being the one responsible for the chamber being opened the first
time. He actually managed to get Harry to doubt one of his best
friends--and usually, whenever anyone insults or points an
accusatory finger at Hagrid, his first impulse is to defend him
(Harry and Draco in Madam Malkin's is the first time). But this
didn't happen--he just assumed that seeing was believing, and he
believed that he saw a guilty younger Hagrid in the diary. Riddle
was very sneaky and skilled about what he let Harry see.

Harry was completely shocked when he realized what Tom's plan was.
He never suspected any foul play coming from that quarter. Riddle's
skill at manipulation is clearly very great. And for all of those
people who like the idea of Tom/Ginny--I do think she may have had a
little crush on the older boy who listened so patiently (she
thought) to her babblings in part because he reminded her of Harry
(I have a theory that he also allowed her to enter the diary as
Harry did, so she was able to see him). Perhaps her getting over
Tom (as I think she has by the end of CoS) will also lead to her
getting over Harry as she learns to see each of them for who they
are, instead of larger than life.

Of course, I think that Viktor Krum is another Harry doppelganger
and that is one reason why Hermione went out with him (although it
was all subconscious), but that's another post...
