No, I don't think it's a flint: Harry did NOT want to use the stone for 
*anything*, he just wanted to *find* it before Quirrel did. Quirrel, in 
the other hand, wanted to have the stone so he could *use* it to gain 
his master's rewards by giving it to him. The crucial difference is 
there: one just wants to find it (but has no plans on what to do with 
it *if* he finds it), and the other wants to find it to *do* something 
with it 8even if it's only giving it to another person).
