I assumed that Flamel died shortly after the goings-on in P/SS. Just the way 
Dumbledore worded it when Harry asked him, "He has enough elixir to set his 
affairs in order." (That's not a direct quote, but its definitely close.) It 
just made me think that he was going to settle things of estate and whatnot 
and then die peacefully. I never really gave him being a wizard or not a 
wizard much thought, truthfully.  JKR always has something up her sleeve -- 
perhaps Flamel will be the wild card that she manages to flash at us.
