Yes, I believe that is what we are all supposed to assume.

Yes, it made me think the same thing intially too.  No muss, no fuss, 
Nicholas Flamel, *only* known immortal in the whole world - muggle or 
wizard - is just going to relenquish his immortality?!?  Because 
Dumbledore had a talk with him...?!   Right then.  I have a difficult 
time believing that scene as presented.  I think there's more left 
unsaid than said.  665 years of "affairs" to set in order would be a 
lengthy task in itself, not likely accomplished overnight.

But what was your assumption as you read the story - wizard or muggle? 
I assumed wizard.  I now believe muggle.  Does it matter?  I don't 
know, but I think it should, somehow.
