The Axis II coditions (personality disorders) are very hard to
diagnose even with a very thorough interview. Most people have
some variations of these disorders (or combinations of these)
and are perfectly "normal". You can find anyone on a bad day
and say that they fit a perfect Borderline profile, or meet
someone the day after he has won a marathon and insist that he
needs help for his obvious Narcissistic personality disorder.
But, there are very specific criterea for making an Axis II
diagnosis, and unfortunately, we haven't really seen enough of
Snape to make that determination. We know absolutely nothing
about his personal relationships, or his family history. We've
seen Snape only through Harry's eyes.
Good luck with the psych studies in college. It is a fun and
rewarding career, but be warned, you'll die poor :-)
