Hello all. I am a new member and a first-time poster.
I'm truly enjoying all the discussions here.

Anyway, I just wanted to respond to one little tiny
point that Marina made. She aserts that
McGonagall/Dumbledore would've given Harry permission
to go into Hogsmeads had Black not been on the loose.
I have to disagree--I can't imagine a situation where
a child without a signed permission slip from a
parent/guardian would be allowed to attend any sort of
trip outside school grounds. If something were to
happen to him, they and Hogwarts would be held
responsible. Perhaps this is an unfair comparison, but
I can certainly remember situations in grade school
where kids who didn't have signed permission slips
could not go on "field trips," no matter how much they
wanted to or how unfair it seemed. A small point, I
know...

thanks for listening--

Nova
