It's not inconceivable that Fred was joking about doing it in the 
first place, either.

There is a nice little essay on the Lexicon about George Weasley and 
how good a heart he seems to have. I'm not sure Fred is evil, but I 
appreciate JKR giving us at least a few things to tell them apart.

The evil twin thing got me thinking though... except for the scene in 
PS where F&G play around with Molly a little bit -- one of the scenes 
that translated pretty well to the movie, by the way -- the twins 
apparently avoid the obvious prank - switching places.

Perhaps our boys are just too clever for something so mundane?
