We don't know that the puffskein *was* hurt.  Magical animals, 
like magical humans, could be unnaturally and/or supernaturally 
resilient. Maybe after that incident Molly and Arthur simply 
decided their home was not a suitable environment for a 
puffskein and found it a better one. That would have been a good 
lesson for the Twins and Ron, too.
