I don't know about Lily and James, but I were one of them, I'd have to
anticipate that Voldemort and the DEs could come at any time and kill me and
my family, even with the Fidelius Charm. For all we know, they could have
willed the money and other things to Dumbledore. And, as Harry lived and his
godfather was thought to be the one who betrayed them to Voldemort,
Dumbledore is acting rather like an executor.

Just a thought.
