Okay, tight on time here and can't look it up, but IIRC, Sirius was 
sent to Azkaban without a trial at all, wasn't he? I think /that/ is 
the bugaboo - not that he wouldn't've been convicted ANYWAY, but that 
things were so muxed up that he was just locked up.
