It was supposed to be a secret after all. Maybe Madame Pomfrey didn't
know about Fluffy or what Dumbledore was hiding in the school and thus
Snape figured she would ask too many questions?  Maybe he hates being
fussed over by her or something?  Could be any number of reasons with
Snape..
