I was actually going to post something to this effect (agreeing with you), but when I checked canon, I changed my mind. The way it's phrased in PS/SS, when Harry and the other Gryffindors are led to their room, is:

"Percy directed the girls through one door to their dormitory and the boys through another. At the top of a spiral staircase -- they were obviously in one of the towers -- they found their beds at last: five four-posters hung with deep red, velvet curtains."

This sounds to me like he directed ALL of the Gryffindor boys through their door, and they ALL found their beds -- five of them.

I'll be happy to be talked out of this, if we can find canon to the contrary. <grin>
