My favorite idea about a branch of the U.S. version of the M.O.M. comes from 
a short fanfic written by a fellow who runs another HP list for grownups:  
The F.B.I. (Federal Bureau of INCANTATIONS), employing M.I.B. (MAGES In 
Black), who wear black suits, black fedora hats, and black sunglasses.  They 
are the ones who cast memory charms on any Mundanes (U.S. term for Muggles) 
who witness evidence of the WW.
