Where I come from, the overwhelming majority of the citizens 
subscribe to a religion that believes love has successfully overcome 
death and sin.  Corny, possibly (though I would say not--true love is 
much too serious for the hearts-and-roses stuff).  Magical, 
absolutely.  And IMO, magic is frequently more persuasive than logic.
