Yes, I realized they exaggerated the "wand choice" in the
movie very soon after my post :}

I wouldn't expect him to suddenly turn into a SuperWizard,
but could see the lessons involving a wand become just a bit
easier.

Does anyone know if the new wand is basically the same as
the old one?
Do we know anything about Hermione's wand?
