Well, I think I'll print this off and show it to my wife. "If I say 
it, it must be true." There you go.

But seriously, I was a bit alarmed by reading this thread. I tried 
to remember how I decided with so much certainty that Crouch Jr. was 
born in 1962. Then I tried to find *where* I stated it with so much 
certainty that Crouch Jr. was born in 1962. What I found so far is 
that the Lexicon doesn't give exact dates for either his birth or 
his trial.

The reference I have on the timeline gives the date as "c.1962" for 
his birth. That little letter c makes all the difference, since it 
indicates that the date is approximate. The timeline also 
gives "after 1981" for his trial. That means that I DON'T know for 
sure when it is.

Is there somewhere else in the Lexicon where I didn't make that 
clear? I checked Crouch's bio. I'll have a look at the timeline of 
Voldemort's rise to power, which I didn't write myself, and see if 
it's stated there. Otherwise it's pretty clear that the dates are 
not for sure.
