Good point. Mauraders made it after becoming animagi, knew almost all 
secret passages etc. (not the Secret Chamber)... It was done to aid 
them to avoid beeing seen. Yet, they'd not be after letting just 
anyone see them on the map in case it got lost. The map automatically 
shows those who aren't trying to hide themselves. It might, however, 
require a password to show "people under invisibility cloak/using 
polyjuice potion" - and yet other Password to show animagi. So Lupin 
*could* see Peter in rat form on it, but twins or Snape could not. 
And the map will show the animagi only to the one who says it.
