I've been lurking for a week or so, and this is my first post so I
hope I don't tread on any toes or make any huge no nos.

Anyway, after reading this post, I went back and thought about it. I
don't know if this has been posted before, so I apologise if it has.

It does seem clear that Voldemort was after Harry, and possibly
James, but not Lily. But there must be some reason for him to want
to kill a baby, as obviously, a baby wouldn't normally be a threat.
So there has to be something that Voldemort knows, and Dumbledore
knows, but is not common knowlege, otherwise with all the wizarding
children around, someone is bound to have let leak to Harry by now.

My mind immediately sprung to perhaps a prediction. Professor
Trelawney obviously came to mind and this quote in PoA by
Dumbledore "That brings her total of real predictions up to two. I
should offer her a pay rise"

What was the other prediction? I don't believe Dumbledore mentioned
it. Could it have been that Prof Trelawney predicted LV's downfall
by the hands of Harry Potter? Could that have been what caused LV to
be so desperate to get to him as a baby. Anyway, just a thought.
