Well, evidently not, as you then go on to theorize that he *did*
transform (to a cute fluffy bunny rabbit, no less--snicker!), but that
the moon worked its mojo anyway, rendering the Animagus effect useless.
But it's definitely a cute theory! (and not just because of Bugsy)
I think he *could* become an Animagus, but just has never seen the
point of it. For one thing, there is the danger that he'd become a
wolf, and Remus probably doesn't want to equate his own nature that
closely with that of the wolf. For another, there's a danger that he
would become something else, and being one animal once a month is
probably enough for the poor guy. He doesn't need the confusion of
being two animals.

I'd just like to add that anyone who *really* wants to help out on
compiling the information on Snape into easy Q/A categories and
format, once I've gotten caught up (8,565 messages to go--and
counting), is WELCOME to email me off-list and work with me on getting
this monster document together. It will not be quite as long as the
Humongous Bigfile, but we might come close.
