Problem here being that I, for one, have no idea what this means, and you
can't explain further without violating list rules. So the comparison is
just hanging out there, unexplicatable and unexplorable. I doubt you could
go into it in detail without raising a few political hackles.

According to Hagrid, Fudge was a compromise candidate when Dumbledore
wouldn't take the job. Nor is it clear that it's an elected position at all.
That said, I think a British parallel is of more use in any case than an
American, since the ways our leaders come to power differ a bit, and the
manipulation thereof must also differ.
