ADMIN: Snipping Rules and Attributing Quotes

Hi all -

There has recently been a sharp increase in badly snipped posts on this 
list.

Please remember that if you are responding to another person's post, to 
only include the part which is relevant to your post.  Attaching your 
own comments to the whole of a previous post, or even a large part of a 
previous post is not acceptable.  Think of the poor listie who reads 
HPFGU via Daily Digest - if posts go unsnipped, huge amounts of already 
read material have to be scrolled through, just in order to get to the 
new comments.  This is annoying in the extreme.

Remember also to properly attribute the part of the previous post which 
survives your ruthless snipping.  This is often straightforward, but 
please be aware that the post to which you are responding may contain 
quoted material as well.  It is very annoying for people to have their 
comments attributed to someone else, and vice versa.
