Well, I agree with Dumbledore that blood doesn't make a person
important, but obviously SOMEONE has to be the heir. It's what an
heir does with his powers that makes him what he is. You make
choices. You can easily make a reference to Harry and the Sorting Hat
wanting to put him in Slytherin. He could have been the Heir to
Slytherin(not saying he is, just an example) but because he choose
not to go, the SH didn't make him. It's all about what decisions you
make. I believe James/Harry could be heirs, just because of what I've
read in the books.
