Okay this I can agree with. This would be a natural thing .. father relents and names his son in his will which could possibly have included his parents house. TR could be the "wealthy man" on pg 10, GoF

Nope can't see that it would have happened. Dumbledore says that he disappeared after leaving school, sank into the dark arts, travelled far and wide, and had changed so much that no one recognised him. It would also mean that "someone" would have had to have been looking after his affairs. As an example, someone was paying Frank Bryce to stay on as gardener ... would that be something that Voldemort would do? Look after a broken down old man when he is surely bent on world domination and destruction? Now add the fact that Voldemort had been terrorising the WW for 11 years (1970-1981). This would mean that Lily was 10 when Voldie first emerged. Surely he wouldn't have been "rejoicing" when Lily got her letter... he would have been out encouraging his death eaters.

>My theory makes TR change his name to Evans and he and his

Nope. Lily is muggle-born. On pg 233 CoS, TR says "Both half-bloods, orphans, raised by muggles" If Lily was Voldies daughter then she wouldnt be muggle born.

>When Lily tried to block his entrance to their house, he spoke very familiarly
>to her. Something like, "Lily, you foolish girl. Stand aside." At any
>rate I am convinced that Harry is related to Voldemort nee Tom Riddle

Yes he does seem familiar with her or he's giving her a break anyway
"Not Harry, not Harry, please not Harry!"

"Stand aside, you silly girl... stand aside, now...."

"Not Harry, please no, take me, kill me instead --"

So yes there has to be a connection there somewhere but being his daughter I dont think it is.

I do have a query on another matter. How DID Dumbledore come by James Potters' invisibility Cloak? they are described as being rare and valuable so you'd think that the Potters would have taken it with them when they went into hiding. As we all know the house was blown up and from the conversation on pg 16 PS, it doesn't sound as if Dumbledore was there at all. So how did he come by the cloak?
