Well, they were Muggles. I mean, it's not as if they can come visit or insist that their children are taken home and to a Muggle hospital -- I mean, come on, what would they do? I'm sure that they were told, at the least, that their children had a magical ailment but were in stable condition and were facing a near certain recovery. Besides, I imagine Hogwarts *is* the best place for people with rare magical illnesses.

Well, I imagine that Nick just figured it was the best place to be...I mean, he *has* got a pretty padded job...I'm sure there's a bit of respect in the ghost community for Head Ghosts of Hogwarts..and Nick seems desperate to get some respect. We know from Moaning Myrtle's account of her life..erm, death..that a ghost is not bound to the place where he or she died...I mean, *she* was following Olive Hornby around and had a restraining order put on her by the MoM. So, where else to go??

Ah, yes. Dear old Hogwarts.
