What I'd find hard to believe is if they (or at least James) *aren't*
descended from Salazar Slytherin. *And* Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and
Hufflepuff too.
After 1000 years of perpetuating a small population, it is very unlikely
that anyone with even one pureblooded wizard ancestor does not trace
their lineage back to at least one of the Founders, probably all of them,
assuming all of them had children (with is a big assumption on my part.)
The trick is not who is descended from them, but who has a *significant*
line of descent from them. It's pretty obvious that it's not all-male
descent, or Riddle wouldn't have been the Heir. So, what is it?
Inheritance of traits?
